Tuscaloosa man busted for child porn

A 22-year-old man was arrested after a raid at his Tuscaloosa apartment turned up child porn and drugs, police said.

Nathaniel Jones was arrested at his apartment after the raid.

Last Friday, the Tuscaloosa Police Department executed a search warrant Jones' apartment in the 5100 block of Old Birmingham Highway, Lt. Teena Richardson said.

Investigators seized a Dell laptop computer in the apartment, which Jones stated was his. Police allege they found child porn when they searched the computer.

Documents on file with the court purport that police found two images of child porn. One image was of a nude girl, allegedly prepubescent, being sodomized by a white mail. The other one image was allegedly of a young girl in ponytails performing oral sex on an adult male.

During the search, police found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Richardson said.

Police did not say what gave rise to the search warrant.

Jones is charged with two counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17. He also is charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and released on the same day after posting $32,000 bond.
